The chef Raymond Blanc created the Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in the 1980’s. It is situated in Oxfordshire but once you enter through the gates of the grounds you will feel like you are in your own private world. Which is one of the reasons I love this hotel so much. Another is its two Michelin-star restaurant!
I was lucky enough to stay for two nights as my ‘mini moon’ with my new husband. Beautiful gardens surround the house, including a Japanese tea garden, English water garden and many vegetable patches.
Champagne and cake
We stayed in a beautiful French boudoir themed suite, made up of reds and black. The bathroom was bigger than the ground floor of my London home and even had its own steam room. We had views overlooking the garden whilst we sipped on champagne.
The last time I visited the Manoir was for my husbands 30th birthday. As soon as we drove into the grounds I felt so relaxed and happy. This time around it was no different. I felt like I didn’t have a care in the world, and it probably helps that we were waited on hand and foot.
Also like last time, on returning to London I had to keep looking and my photos and reminding myself about everything we did, because it all feels like a dream.
